Studio
Our School

The Joan Yankauskas School of Dance was established in 1970.  Miss Joan has 46 years of experience teaching dance and 58 years of experience dancing.  We have classes for preschool children through adult.  We offer beginner classes or advanced classes. Our classes are for serious dancers looking to become professional or the not so serious dancer, dancing for fun for just a good workout. All of our classes are limited in size, so each student gets the individual attention they deserve or need.  All of our classes are one hour in length.  We have at least one assistant teacher trained by Miss Joan in every class.  If we do not offer a class to fit your schedule, and you have five people interested, you may schedule your own class and time as long as the studio has the time available.  The studio is open Monday thru Saturday and we are closed on Fridays and Sundays.  Our summer classes begin the last week of June.  The studio is open Monday thru Thursday in the summer.

Hair, Attire, & Conduct

Hair must be secured and off the face, appropriate dance wear and shoes must be worn to class. If not dressed in proper attire you may be asked to leave class or may be asked to leave class or may not be able to participate in class, but will have to pay tuition for that class. Students will not be allowed to wear oversized shirts or street clothes during class. Dance sweaters are the only sweaters allowed. It is fully expected that students be on time for class and give their full attention to the teachers. Students taking one hour classes do not have to have drinks during class. It only hinders their movement. Leotards, Tights, Dance Pants, Shorts, may be any style or color.

If you withdraw from class you should notify the studio prior to your class or you will be charged for all classes unattended, until the studio is notified.
